Simavi publishes new Impact Report: this is what we achieved in 2022
Curious about what Simavi achieved in 2022, together with our partners, supporters and donors? You can read it in our brand new annual report.
Women and girls worldwide are disproportionately affected by the lack of access to safe drinking water and toilets. Simavi works with partners in 10 countries in Africa and Asia on projects that support local solutions for women and girls so that they gain access to water, a toilet and equal treatment.
“Over the past year, we at Simavi have seen with our own eyes how climate change is exacerbating the water crisis,” says Simavi director Dieneke van der Wijk. “I am proud that in 2022 Simavi has become more strategic and more outspoken when it comes to our messages to politicians and the public, only together we make a difference.” This year's Impact Report clearly shows this.
Impact of our work on women and girls
Every year we bundle the stories from the countries where we work and the most important figures in an Impact Report. In doing so, we challenge ourselves to report the actual impact of our work on women and girls. We work from our Theory of Change, in which we describe how our work and strategies contribute to our ultimate goal.
Interviews, photo reports and infographics
Our annual report therefore not only contains the most important facts and figures behind Simavi's projects, but also interviews, photo reports, infographics and background articles. Read, for example, how Simavi in 2022 supported female leadership in Uganda, worked on setting up the Water Justice Fund with partners in Nepal, Bangladesh and Kenya, campaigned in the Netherlands with the Water Wake-Up Call, developed a comic book for Tanzanian schools about violence against women, and organized creative projects with 842 girls' clubs in Bangladesh.
